In the theme of environmental commitment, the Bogotá Convention Bureau is supporting the “Soy ECOlombiano” (I Am ECOlombian) initiative. This campaign is led by the Minister of the Environment, Vivienda y Desarrollo Territoria and WWF, in association of Caracol TV and El Espectador.

“Soy ECOlombiano” was created to promote and encourage responsible environmental behaviors in the various sectors of society to improve quality of life and responsible use of natural resources.

The campaign aims for Colombia to be recognized not only as a mega-diverse country, but also as an example of environmental responsibility for the world.

Through the www.soyecolombiano.com website, visitors will find relevant information on responsible practices, opinion surveys, published works from the environmental sector and useful tools to achieve environmental sustainability.

There is also a carbon footprint calculat or which measures the greenhouse gas effect created by the various activities of people, businesses, events, etc. To decrease your carbon footprint, there is an area where you can finance the planting and maintenance of a native Colombian tree, which will absorb carbon from the atmosphere as it grows, thus decreasing the effects of climate change.
