Colombia’s capital city is the country’s most popular destination for congresses, fairs and events. Infrastructure in the city represents 33% of the totality of the country’s infrastructure.

A “Five Star” Destination

Bogotá’s hotel infrastructure meets even the highest international quality standards. Some prestigious national and international hotel chains include Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton, GHL, Hoteles nh, Hoteles Estelar, Tequendama Crowne Plaze, Royal and Summit.

Currently, there are approximately 12,000 hotels rooms, a number that will increase over the next five years with 4,500 news rooms in new hotels including Hilton, Sonesta, Ibis, Diplomat and Holiday Inn.

The city also offers 195 meeting and conference rooms located in top hotels and specialized centers, 65 convention centers and auditoriums, as well as a first-class fair grounds that offers a wide range of services and cutting edge technology.

The new International Convention Centre (Centro Internacional de Convenciones) is currently being built with a US$125 million budget. The center that will seat 4,000 people is expected to open in 2014

The Corferias fair grounds is the city’s largest with 22 pavilions, a surface area of 62,500 m² and 15,000 m² for outdoor exhibits.

Other noteworthy convention centres include Compensar, Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada, Centro de Convenciones AR and Centro de Convenciones CAFAM Floresta.
